Martin Seppälä, Ph.D.(Econ.)
Dr Martin Seppälä is a Natively Swedish-speaking Finnish national. Martin has a Ph.D.(Econ.) in strategic management from Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki and has worked as a lecturer and visiting professor in strategy and management in the Estonian Business School (EBS), Aalto University, Hanken Business School and SKEMA (CERAM) in the French Grande Ecole System. He has served as a board/advisory board member in many companies internationally.
Martin started his career in management consulting in 1999. Before founding Excedea Consulting he worked in the strategy groups of American consulting giants Andersen Consulting and Accenture. During the following 20 years Martin worked on growth and strategy issues with hundreds of companies, including the boards and management teams of many Nordic stock listed companies. His clients include such companies as Nokia, HP, Telia, Elisa, Nokian Tyres, Stockmann and Technopolis. Besides delivering longer projects on-site in Scandinavia and the Baltics, Martin also worked in London and in markets throughout Europe and Asia. Martin has a wealth of experience in cross-border M&A and creating successful international growth strategies in a wide range of industries (including consumer goods and services, ICT, real estate investments, healthcare and manufacturing industry).
For 15 years Martin served as hands-on board member in the largest business park and private city in the Nordic region, Ülemiste City. Managing over 250 MEUR in assets, the project is widely considered one of the most successful smart city projects in the world.
In the last years Martin has focused increasingly on investments in real estate and growth ventures. Having experienced several successful exits, both as entrepreneur, board member, advisor and investor, he is now mainly focused on helping create and scale growth companies. While the investments are sector-agnostic, the ventures he is involved in leans increasingly towards health, wellbeing and med-tech.

As part of Martin's wellness and longevity focus, he co-founded Sanitum group. Sanitum's mission is to help people live healthier, longer lives. Part of the foundation of this project was Martin's second (his first book can be freely downloaded here) book titled "Forty-Two: A handbook for a good life", which can be purchased through Amazon globally. In the book he goes through his personal journey and makes 42 prescriptions for leading a good and purposeful life.
Martin considers his by-far biggest achievement in life to be his family.
